The Friday night
dinner at the Holiday Inn Midtown had 857 attending (2 of those were daughters
accompanying their Mothers!) for dinner in 3 different rooms. The oldest graduate was Bessie Inkster Carter
from the class of 1937. Appetizers were
fantastic as was the dinner but best of all was seeing classmates!!
The next day there was
breakfast at the hotel and then up to the RVH for a fantastic lunch. Lots of tents and seating had been set up
outside of the nurses’ residence as well as inside. It was a beautiful fall day with temperature
around 70 degrees and sunny skies. Some
of our classmates were more organized than others and went shopping, to the
museum or on harbour boat tours. Others
just meandered back down University to the Hotel for a little rest and/or
visiting before the evening activities.
The class of 63 were
lucky enough to have a wonderful meal at the Atwater Club – very relaxed
atmosphere with lots of time to visit.
The Memory Book was a
great success especially pages from those unable to attend. You may still send a page to Louise (contact
info below) and she will send and new ones to those with email.
Sunday morning we all
started to go back to our “other “ lives – catching trains, planes, continuing
on with visiting with friends and family ...
There was a lot of
talk about reunions in the future and especially, “What will we do for our 50th?? Some
suggestions were: Los Vegas, a cruise, the Okanogan Valley.... NOTHING was decided upon but we all know the
year is 2013 which is not far away!!
Anyone who has some thoughts about what we should do, please communicate
to the others (Louise is happy to be a distributer of “thoughts and
ideas”). Let’s keep the reunions of the
class of 63 going – especially for the 50th!!
